Brands are among the crop of users testing Twitter’s new Vine app, but since the platform is still in its infancy, who is to say making the six-second video clips is worth the time and creativity? A free analytics tool from Simply Measured gives companies and the average Vine user a deeper look at who is interacting with the videos and which are driving the most engagement. It also reveals your top influencers and where they are located.
“As brands put Vine to use, measurement becomes critical to show business value,” Simply Measured CEO Adam Schoenfeld told Mashable. “Having analytics will help brands decide what type of content to share, who is engaging and how Vine programs compare to other types of social media content.” Here’s how it works: By visiting the Simply Measured Vine analytics link, enter any Twitter handle that has been posting about Vines — this can include your brand, a competitor or even your personal account.
The tool collects and analyzes each Vine and is available to any account with at least three posts in the last seven days. Reports are then sent via email within 12 to 24 hours. To see an example, click here.
The company also has a paid service ($500 a month) to scale any Vine account with more than 100,000 followers and tracking across all social channels. “The reason reports are emailed within 24 hours is because we collect historical data on all your tweets,” Schoenfeld said. Because of processing cost, we run those at night for the free tool. But we promise that it is worth the wait. On our paid platform there are no delays — data is in real time.”
