Too Much Information

The great thing about social media is its features that help us express ourselves and share events that happen in our lives. Our Facebook profiles, Twitter accounts and Tumblr blogs are our personal diaries and public reflections of ourselves. The biggest problem is, people go too far. How? The answer is fairly simple. They show and share too much on their social profiles. They make it to a point that they share everything about their lives. People post too  much information. We don’t need your updates every thirty seconds or a thousand picture play by play of your day. We also don’t need you flooding or news feed or dashboard with a thousand pictures of your face or your pets. Leave us be with the extensive details and leave us something to ponder about. Stop making yourself stalker bait.

If I get a million likes…

If I get a million likes or shares, I will profess my love to my crush, shave my head or donate my lifetime savings. Seriously? This is probably the most self centered, egoistic, obnoxious, and attention-hogging trend of all time. Why? It’s kind of an obvious one. A person posts a status, a tweet or a photo making a deal with the world to deliver an amount of likes. In return, he will do something outrageous, life changing, or something stupid. It doesn’t make sense why you should depend on millions of random strangers to make a life changing decision for you. Stop coercing the world to like your status. They probably don’t care about what you do in your life. Please, stop this now and get on with your life

The Photo Poses bandwagon

Yes, social media profiles are your own property. Thus, you have all the right to post great photos of yourself or aspire to be a model. Many people love this feature about social media because they can show the world how beautiful they are. There are some photo trends that people copy though because it just happens to look good on someone. The thing is, copying a photo pose the trend entails a reasonable judgement and a plethora of considerations. An extreme overhead shot of you distorts your body and makes your forehead look huge. Making a duck face certainly doesn’t make your pretty face any good. Taking a picture in front of the mirror, especially when done too often, screams arrogant. Always posing with your expensive camera doesn’t make us appreciate your camera or you. Photo poses compliment some people, but they’re not for everybody.
